Levi

                                               This Morning.
                                               Last night.

Last night Levi was jumping in the bath and fell and busted his eye-brow wide open. He ended up with 6 stitches and lots of pain. The Dr. could not deaden it all the way, so Levi was in a lot of pain. The Dr. was very green at putting stitches in. The man had to take a break. It took 3 adults to hold him down. It's not cool to see and hear your child in that much pain.

Levi is a champ! I let Levi look at the picture of his head and he said "that looks cool". Boys!

Sorry about your "Green Doc" Levi is a tough little dude though. Why did they not sedate him?

Shelly Conn said...

Joel we asked if they would and they said that they could not do that. Why? I do not know.

I agree with Joel--they totally should have sedated him. Poor boy (and mom and dad). Weren't we all just waiting for this day with that boy?!?!? :)

I have protocols to sedate pediatric patients. I don't understand why they would not either. What are they going to do when you have to get them out?

Joel and Julie,

I am so mad. That boy was shacking and wet from sweating so much. Why in the world would you not sedate a kid. What should I tell them when we go back? They are going to take them out Saturday evening. They wanted them in until Monday, but we are heading to camp. How do they take them out? I am thinking they just cut the knot and pull them out. Does it hurt to have stitches taken out?

I want to go back in time and punch that Dr. in the face. (Sorry, flesh talking here)

Abby had stitches in her eyebrow when she was about Levi's age. I don't remember it being too terrible having them taken out, but then again, she only had like 2 or 3.

Hey Shelly! I'm checking out your blog too! :)
In April, our four year old had 14 stitches in the same place as Levi's (but the other eye)~ It was so traumatic! Hope all went well in getting his stitches out!
Enjoyed your posts - it's fun to read about other families with four kids! Have a great week!

Mo said, "He's all boy." when I showed him the picture! Just think, maybe Levi will have a son someday and be just like himself. Pay for your raising!
